Since the establishment of TPSF, there are many successes to count in the economic growth of the country and it has contributed much to enable conducive business environment. The following are some of the success attained by TPSF:-

  • Managed to lobby the Government to extend the number of years on Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) from 3 years to 5 years.
  • Managed to lobby for the reduction of Skills and Development Levy (SDL) from 6% to 5%. In the same agenda, the Government has also agreed to review the VAT rate as well as the level of exemptions.
  • Amendments to the OECD Investment Policy Review documents for Tanzania.
  • Effective engagement in contribution to the National Constitutional Review Process.
  • Coordinate the Private Sector’s participation in the National Empowerment Agenda.
  • Pushed for the passing of Bill for the legally binding mechanism on the elimination of Non Tariff Barriers.
  • Participated as a member of the Steering Committee to establish President’s Delivery Bureau (PDB), which is implementing the Big Results Now initiative.
  • The Board has declared that the main TPSF agenda is empowerment and so far this has been publicized widely in the media.
  • TPSF continued to use high-level platforms to represent the Private Sector’s interests. These included being part of Presidential delegations to USA, France, Netherlands, and Singapore, as well as the Prime Minister’s Delegation to China.
  • Establishment of Policy Platforms/Forums with various ministries, Parliamentary Committees and Speaker of the National Assembly.
