We are pleased to inform you of the upcoming Russia–Africa Summit will be held on 23–24 October 2019 at the Sochi Olympic Park Main Media Centre and will be co-chaired by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President and African Union Chairman Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi. The Russia–Africa Summit is the first event of its kind in the history of Russian-African relations to which the head of every African state and the leaders of major regional associations and organizations have been invited.

Russia – Africa Economic Forum

Sochi will host the Russia–Africa Economic Forum on 23rd – 24th October 2019 at Sochi Olympic Park Main Media Centre alongside the Summit. The Forum will be attended by African heads of state, representatives of Russian, African, and international business and government agencies, and representatives of African integration associations. More than 3000 CEO’s from big African companies as well as CEO’s of Russian companies and leading International experts are also expected to attend Tanzania is expected to actively take part in this forum.

The Forum will be a strategically important step towards creating favourable conditions for the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and Africa (especially Tanzania) and will also diversify the forms and areas of Russian-African cooperation.  A significant set of trade, economic, and investment agreements is expected to be signed following the conclusion of the Forum.

Programme of the Event

The business programme will include a plenary session and a series of round tables and panel discussions. Participants will discuss the following topics: The role of Russia’s agenda in Africa and its promotion, Africa’s role in the international financial system, expanding cooperation, export and investment, as well as security challenges. The plenary session will centre on the theme of the Forum- “Uncovering the potential for Cooperation”. Participants will discuss key areas for cooperation based on three thematic pillars: ‘Forging Economic Ties’, ‘Creating Joint Projects’ and ‘Collaborating in the Humanitarian and Social Sector’.

Key sectors include; Oil gas, Agriculture, Mining, Nuclear Technology, Development Institutions, Transport, Banking, ICT and Energy.


Participation in the Russia–Africa Economic Forum is free of charge HOWEVER all participants should bare all their costs.  The application review process takes a minimum of 10 days. The exact length of the process varies for each applicant hence we highly encourage you to register as soon as possible. All costs associated with travel and accommodation will solely be bore by the participant. Only those individuals who have received an invitation from the Organizing Committee may attend the Forum. Participation in the Russia–Africa Economic Forum is subject to approval after application

Participating in the Forum as a moderator or speaker.

This forum allows stakeholders to participate in the Forum as a moderator or speaker hence we highly encourage you to submit an application to the programme preparation working group. Applications must include the participant’s contact details, position and organization, plus a brief abstract of their talk on the selected topic.
