- About Tanzania Private Sector Foundation
Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) is the apex and umbrella organization for Tanzania's private sector organizations and businesses. It was founded in 1998 with 33 members but has since grown organically to over 400 direct members representing both Business Management Organisations and private corporations serving over 6 million Businesses in Tanzania and Zanzibar.
Since its inception, TPSF has been the Government's strategic partner and most trusted private sector organization, representing a unified voice of the private sector, advising the Government on policy formulation and policy reviews, and advocating for an enabling business and investment climate, all the while promoting private sector-led social and economic development in Tanzania.
2. Rationale Tanzania Private Sector Week 2024
The Tanzania Private Sector Week (TPSW) is an annual flagship celebration that plays a pivotal role in the business landscape of Tanzania. Organized by the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) in collaboration with key private sector organizations.
TPSW, provides a platform for introspection, fostering reflection on the private sector's journey, challenges, and successes, which informs strategic decisions for the future. TPSW also promotes collaboration, enabling open dialogue among diverse stakeholders and facilitating partnerships that amplify the Private sector's impact. Tanzania Private Sector Week (TPSW) acknowledges the achievements and the role of the private sector, underscoring its pivotal role in economic growth and job creation.
Furthermore, TPSW showcases the resilience of Tanzanian businesses, inspiring innovation and a forward-thinking mindset. It elevates the visibility of the private sector's positive influence on the communities. By envisioning the future, TPSW guides stakeholders in adapting to policies, emerging trends, and technologies. Previously the Tanzania Private Sector Day (TPSD) rapidly evolved into a prominent event bringing together more than 1000 CEOs, business leaders, and captains of industries from across Tanzania and the broader region. The event's resounding success underscores its significance in promoting private sector development and catalyzing economic growth. The Tanzania Private Sector Week is intended to be an elevation of this structure to significantly place the Tanzania private sector on a pedestal it deserves for being a key contributor to the growth of the economy.
TPSW holds a paramount significance, as it aligns with the momentous 25th anniversary of TPSF, marking a quarter-century of unwavering commitment to Tanzania's private sector growth. This convergence aims to facilitate an inclusive dialogue that assesses the progress made over the past 25 years and envisages the trajectory of the Tanzanian private sector in the years ahead.

5. The theme for TPSW 2024
Under the overarching theme, “TPSF at 25, a Legacy of Championing Private Sector Growth Towards Vision 2050". TPSW 2024 encapsulates the enduring commitment of TPSF and the wider private sector to steer economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable practices. The theme echoes the narrative of resilience, adaptation, and progress that defines the Tanzanian private sector's evolution.
6. Expected Participants
The event is expected to bring together more than 1000 business delegates across Tanzania and Africa:
- CEO’s Tanzania and Regional
- High-level government officials including Ministers, Permanent Secretaries,
- Ambassadors, High Commissioners,

7. Scope of the Assignment.
- Development of Tanzania Private Sector Week event concept.
- Management of venue setup including management of decor and event Branding ensuring the development of a look and feel of the event.
- Management of all event vendors
- Preparation and coordination of the event program with the MC and guest speakers
- Management of food and drinks, menu selection, setup and service.
- Sourcing of entertainment, briefing and coordination during the event
- Coordination of all pre-event activities,
- Management of security and clearing for protocol
- Management of event ushers
- Management and coordination of car parking security throughout the event
- Management and coordination of the PR and all Media engagements after the Press conference, during the event and post the event
- Coordination of media tours and interviews.
8. Consultant Profile, Skills, Competencies and Experience
(The Consultant should be a firm)
- Should demonstrate a thorough track record of not less than 5 years of corporate event management.
- Technical expertise in event management, marketing, branding and related.
- Proven familiarity and practical experience with event planning for PSO’s,
- Creative thinking, drive for results and strong commitment.
- Demonstrate Experience in engaging with Government, Donors, Foreign Investors, Business community including Corporate, Medium and Small companies.
9. Deliverables and Submission
- Detailed event work plan to be prepared 30 days before the event.
- Successfully organized event/forum.
- Final assignment report.
