TPSF Update: The 13th Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) meeting took place on Tuesday, June 7th, 2022 at the Treasury Square, Dodoma. The meeting was chaired by Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Chairperson of the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) and the President of the United Republic of Tanzania alongside her was the Prime Minister of Tanzania Hon. Kassim Majaliwa and the Chief Secretary, Hon. Hussein Katanga.

The meeting was attended by the Members of the Tanzania National Business Council from the Public Sector and Private Sectors. The Delegation from Tanzania private sector was led by Mr. Paul Makanza, TPSF Vice Chairman who was accompanied by TPSF Board Members and Cluster Representatives. The meeting’s key agenda included; updates from the 12th TNBC Meeting resolutions, updates on Blueprint for Regulatory Reform progress, findings on the tax administration reforms research and tourism sector reform proposals.

The meeting deliberated over key strategic decisions and takeaways including,

• Fastracking the implementation of the Blueprint

• Formation of ministerial technical committee to review and implement the proposal presented from the agenda items deliberations (each ministry)

• Stronger collaboration between the Public and Private sector in the areas of Public Private Partnerships (PPPs)

Private Sector was represented by Heads of Clusters from Tanzania Private Sector Foundation namely Mr. Paul Makanza (Manufacturing and Industry), Mr. Simon Shayo (Mining),   Dr. Jacqueline Mkindi (Agriculture), Ms. Susan Mashibe (Tourism and Natural Resources), Mr. Abdulmajid Nsekela (Banking and Financial Services), Eng. Ngwisa Mpembe (Engineering and Construction), Ms. Suzzie Laizer (Regional Associations), Ms. Mercy Silla (Women Entrepreneurs), Mr. Ally Amour (Zanzibar PSO) and Mr. Octavian Mshiu (Services).

Other Private Sector representatives invited to the meeting included Mr. Hans Lemm, Chairman, European Business Group (EUBG), Mr. David Tarimo, Chairman of CEO Roundtable and Country Senior Partner PwC Tanzania, Mr. Gaston Kikuwi, Chairman, VIBINDO Society.
