TPSF Appoints John Ulanga as the new CEO
The Board of Directors of the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) has announced the appointment of Mr. John Ulanga as the new Chief Executive Officer taking over from Mr. Raphael Maganga who has been acting TPSF CEO. Mr. Ulanga's appointment commences effectively on 7th August 2023.
Mr. John Ulanga brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise. Prior to joining TPSF, he served as the Regional Director for East and Central Africa at TradeMark East Africa (TMEA), an organization dedicated to supporting trade growth across East Africa. He also held the position of Vice President, External Affairs and Sustainability for BG Group, a prominent player in oil and gas exploration in the region.
Mr. Ulanga, holds a B. Com (Accounting) from the University of Dar es Salaam and an Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. Additionally, he holds the designation of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA Tanzania) and is a Certified Emotional Intelligence Practitioner and a Certified Compliance Professional.
Mr. Ulanga's commitment to various causes is evident from his roles in multiple boards. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Serengeti Breweries Limited, KCB Bank Tanzania Limited, and the University Council of the Hubert Kairuki Memorial University, Dar es Salaam. Furthermore, he is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tanzania Financial Services for the Underserved Settlements (TAFSUS), an initiative focused on upgrading slums and underserved settlements in Tanzania. In addition, he holds a non-executive directorship in Mwananchi Communications Limited.
